Crispy Cucumber Pickles

7 lbs cucumbers sliced
2 cups household lime
2 gallons water
5 lbs. sugar
3 qts vinegar
1 Tbsp salt
2 Tbsp pickling spice

Soak cucumbers in lime water for 24 hours.

Wash and soak in clean water for 4 hours changing water 3 to 4 times. Combine sugar, vinegar, salt and pickling spices (tied in cloth), bring to boil.

Add cucumbers and let boil for 30 mins. Pout into hot jars.
